Ground Zero Season 6 Roster Released!
By Ty Johnson Nuances of Wrestling  The official roster for Ground Zero Season 6 is released. After much delay, the season is finally set to air this Wednesday 6/26. There will be seven episodes, with the finale airing on August 7th!  To start we have the General Manager for Season 6, Saint Sully! Sully has hosted the show since it's inception in Season One, and a couple of years ago he took over as the owner and President of Ground Zero. As the former Co-Owner of the Hardcore Wrestling Association and the greatest FWA X Champion of All Time, Saint has more than enough knowledge of hardcore to run this hardcore season of Ground Zero.   Next we have our broadcast team. Starting with a broadcaster with a lot of experience Bullet Broc, also known as Broc Lobster, will take first chair at the table. He has commentated on Ground Zero in the past, as well as FWA's Meltdown during its inception. Like his cousin Sully he was also a Co-Owner of the Hardcore Wrestling Association and knows hardcore like the back of his hand. Joining him for his broadcasting debut, an HWA original, is Ramjam! Ramjam is also employed by Cosmic Discord Wrestling and holds the Tentacle of Irony. Now to meet each team!  First up, Coach Chris Peacock! A Ground Zero Season 2 original returns to mentor his own team. Since his time on Ground Zero, Chris Peacock has experienced perhaps more success than any other Ground Zero alumni. He recently became FWA's 5th Grand Slam Champion. While his World Title reign was impressive, what will help him more in this environment is his two X Championship reigns. His team will be lucky to have him. And speaking of his team, here they are!        There is a lot of interesting talent in this group. The disgraced roidboy Bull Ballicker, the energetic Dude, and everyone is already pairing up Dr. Mortimer Poindexter with The Click Clacker. Could these two nerds be our next Trick or Trash? Next up!  If someone asks you to picture a hardcore wrestler, I can almost guarantee Jason Randall comes to mind! A former X Champion himself, Jason Randall may just be one of the most violent competitors the FWA has ever seen. And now, he gets to teach that violence to a whole new crop of talent! Will this group below be able to survive Coach Randall's grueling methods?        The potential in this group is strong! Harley and Hit N' Missy are two girls who shouldn't be underestimated, and Johnny Meep and J-Money have a lot of potential themselves. One person worth highlighting in this group however, is Maddox. This motorcycle enthusiast will become the first person to compete on Ground Zero for a third time. He is a Ground Zero Season 1 original, and then returned with his brother Matty Maddox in Season 3's Tag Team season. But since then his brother has passed away, and he's more determined than ever to not fall short this go around. Who's our final coach?  The Texas Wrangler himself will be coaching a team on Ground Zero for the first time! Bedlam just recently got finished with a 237 day long X Championship reign, a title he captured by defeating Shawn Summers in a Three Stages of Hell match. There might not be anyone tougher than Texas Tough Tommy Bedlam. And the group about to get a taste of the Longhorn Wrestling experience?        Callum Thorne just screams Tommy Bedlam energy, and we can't think of a better fit for this team. But D.O.A and Brutus Andino look tough as nails. Then you have Grandma Ethel's ex-lover, the despicable Dirty Don. Could he find a new romance with Hardcore Granny, or is she more than he could bargain for? Then I'm not sure what to expect from Korn-Knee-Lee-Us Big Brain, or Burt Holl. Well there you have it folks! The official roster for Ground Zero Season 6.  [/div] Welcome to the official application page for Ground Zero Season 6. For those who do not know, Ground Zero is a kayfabe reality competition show (think a mix of Tough Enough and NXT) to determine the next FWA Star. It's basically like my own version of an FWA Be The Booker. The first season of Ground Zero was entirely made up of my own characters, and the second season this evolved to where other handlers could volunteer their own character ideas to compete. The third season featured tag teams, the fourth season had a luchador theme and took place in Mexico, and the fifth season featured all women wrestlers. This season's theme is that it is all HARDCORE. How this will work is anyone is free to fill out the application and donate characters for me to use for this. These characters, or most of them, will compete on the show. I will eliminate a number of them each week until the final week, where a winner of the show is determined (with the kayfabe reward of an FWA contract). You DO NOT have to commit to anything if you submit a character idea here. There will not be weekly promos, I will not demand you to write segments, etc. In the past, people have written segments for their characters, but it is not necessary. The weekly results and matches will simply be decided by me. So do not feel like you don't want to commit to anything so you aren't making a character With that said, if you foresee yourself using this character for real in the fed and feel like this is a great way to get them started, then please let me know. Anyone who tells me that they plan on using the character in the FWA will have their character survive until the final episode. At that point there will be an official sanctioned match and promo thread to determine the winner. But again, for this you have to let me know so that I KNOW your character is legit. Otherwise they may get eliminated early in the competition. You may submit multiple characters, as many as you wish in fact, but do note two things. The first thing is, the main portion of the competition will only feature at most 18-20 Characters. Which means even if there are 60 characters submitted, I'll cut it all the way down to 18 by the end of the first episode. Also note that if you have multiple characters, I will likely eliminate some of those early. With all that said, I appreciate anyone who volunteers an application. Have fun! Applications will be open for a couple months as Ground Zero Season 6 won't be getting started until mid to late March. The only rule is that the character must not have competed in the FWA before.

Backstory: Callum Thorne never intended to get into wrestling, it fell in his lap. He grew up loving the movie Road House and found himself one day wanting to be a bouncer at a bar. When he came of age he started to live his dream in his hometown of Red Lodge serving as the lead bouncer for a good portion of his twenties. That was until one night when one of the locals got into a fight his life would change. A former Ground Zero wrestler, Emerson McCoy was thrown into him landing on his lap. Callum helped him out, and the two threw the locals out, and friendship blossomed from there. McCoy agreed to help train Throne and the two of them went into the tag team division in Paragon South Wrestling indy fed in Montana where they became 3x PSW Interstate Tag Team Champions. It was here where Callum would go out on his own and became a 2x Hangman Gallows Invitational winner. These tournaments would see some Texas Bullrope-style deathmatches set in bars across Southwest. He would be the only man to win it back-to-back utilizing brass knuckles with broken beer bottles tapped on them to a roar of the crowd. This time his fans stated that they were residents of "Callum County". Callum would finally win one more championship, SRW North Texas Championship. However, he would blow his shoulder out and hasn't wrestled since.

Name: D.O.A / Dead On Arrival
D/O/B: June 12th, 1999.

Backstory: D.O.A is a young athlete of mixed Australian/Brazilian heritage, currently causing a bit of a ruckus along the Australian independent scene. Having debuted in 2021 under her real name, D.O.A utilized her capoeira background to create a unique nonstop motion of evasiveness and attack within the ring. Quick, flashy, with an insane level of cardio, D.O.A operates under one core rule: If youβre resting, youβre not fighting. And if youβre not fighting, youβre losing. This resulted in a series of matches within Coastline Circuit Combat, an otherwise unremarkable promotion in Queensland, where D.O.Aβs matches were so fast-paced and violent that it often ended with either her or her opponent looking like they were on their way to an emergency room, or in the more extreme cases, the morgue. This series of matches earned her the namesake of Dead On Arrival, or D.O.A for short, a nickname she embraced wholeheartedly.
Of course, thatβs not to say D.O.A hasnβt received criticism for her preferred way of operating within the ring. Several elder wrestling talking heads on various podcasts, most notably famed historian/piece of shit Tim Bornette, have routinely discouraged D.O.Aβs nonstop attacking sprint focus, many times requesting that she should βslow downβ and βgrab a restholdβ, along similar terms. And to their point, D.O.A has very little, if any, wrestling technique - for all her sprint striking prowess, she has never bothered to put someone in so much as a headlock. But, in the same way a giant never ascends to top rope, thatβs just her preferred style. To D.O.A, fighting is a competitive combination of attack, evade, endurance, and cardio, and a resthold is the antithesis of all of those terms. The second the bell rings, you should be in a war to decisively dismantle the other person, something D.O.A is very good at. So far, none of her matches within CCC have gone over nine minutes, and are typically touted as the hottest matches on the card.
Her making the cut to Ground Zero, especially in this hardcore focused season, may be the true test of her ideology and abilities.

Gimmick/Backstory: Dude is..interesting, to say the very least. He is an already infamous name on the indy scene, less for his in-ring work and more for his reputation. Dude is nothing short of the biggest party animal in all wrestling. How big? He parties so hard that he's even forgotten his own name, so everyone just calls him Dude. Dude lives the life of a real punk rock lifestyle that seems to him not giving a damn about anything and having a good time. Maybe unsurprisingly, this attitude has hurt his career as many major companies consider his lifestyle more trouble than it is worth...
Crowd reaction: YAY.
Wrestling Style: So you might be thinking, "Well if that's the case, why would he be involved in Ground Zero at all?" Well, Dude is one of the most intriguing wrestlers around. His style revolves the high flying daredevil style that we all love, this makes him an unpredictable and exciting worker to watch but he has a major issue with consistency. You'll never know which Dude you'll get. It's either the Dude that most people think he is, a walking botch factory suffering from his lifestyle choices...or the Dude that is, quite frankly, a creative wrestling savant who, out of nowhere, steals the show with his insane daredevil spots. -He is particularly noted for using chairs as a springboard- he's the only wrestler who can have a match that stinks up the place one night...and then have a five-star classic 24 hours later. There's no middle ground with Dude. He's either awful or one of the best high flyers in the world. It just depends on the night.

Dubbed βthe most inconsistent wrestler in historyβ, on any given night Missy will either be on par with the best competitors in the world or possess the wrestling ability of a block of wood. As such, she soon (begrudgingly) became known as Hitβn Missy.

Harley is a dedicated Deathmatch wrestler and has put her body on the line countless times. She has suffered a broken neck, various broken wrists and even broke both her legs after a botched scaffolding spot during a match in Vietnam during the start of her career. She loves to take things from audience members and utilize them in her matches. Her opponents do their best to make her bleed sooner rather than later, as Harley seems to only become strong at the sight of her own blood.
