Welcome to the official application page for the second ever Ground Zero mini season SEASONS BEATINGS (credit to AON for the name idea). For those who do not know, Ground Zero is a kayfabe reality competition show (think a mix of Tough Enough and NXT) to determine the next FWA Star. It's basically like my own version of an FWA Be The Booker. The first season of Ground Zero was entirely made up of my own characters, and the second season this evolved to where other handlers could volunteer their own character ideas to compete. The third season featured tag teams, the fourth season had a luchador theme and took place in Mexico, and the fifth season featured all women wrestlers, and the sixth season had a hardcore theme.
This season the theme is HOLLY JOLLY.
So we'll be looking for all sorts of holiday themed characters. Characters don't HAVE to be holiday themed I suppose, but if you give me a generic boring non festive character I am putting a Santa hat on them at least.
How this will work is anyone is free to fill out the application and donate characters for me to use for this. These characters, or most of them, will compete on the show. Like the Halloween season I will NOT be eliminating characters this go around. Unless for some crazy reason I get 50 of them. But assuming it's a similar number to the last few seasons I'll keep the roster in tact.
You DO NOT have to commit to anything if you submit a character idea here. There will not be weekly promos, I will not demand you to write segments, etc. In the past, people have written segments for their characters, but it is not necessary. The weekly results and matches will simply be decided by me. So do not feel like you don't want to commit to anything so you aren't making a character With that said, if you foresee yourself using this character for real in the fed and feel like this is a great way to get them started, then please let me know. Anyone who tells me that they plan on using the character in the FWA will have their character survive until the final episode. At that point there will be an official sanctioned match and promo thread to determine the winner. But again, for this you have to let me know so that I KNOW your character is legit. Otherwise they may get eliminated early in the competition.
You may submit multiple character.
With all that said, I appreciate anyone who volunteers an application.
For this mini season I am only going to be doing 4 episodes, so it won't have a long run time. The first episode will air December 4th and the finale will air on Christmas Day (although it may not be posted then).

Because of his lack of festive cheer, a group of elves banded together to abduct him and force him to work in the basement of Santa's Workshop for less than minimum wage, with any deficit being made up for in lumps of coal (which is where he got his name from). The elves have told him that if he can win Ground Zero and learn to enjoy Christmas at the same time, they will release him from his captivity.

He became famous on Tiktok from stopping a robbery when a gang of fifth graders tried to steal some Prime Sports drinks from a bodega. Now, he's capitalizing on that fame by entering Ground Zero. Will he find success, and repair relations with his estranged wife? Will he need to save the day again during Ground Zero when terrorists attack the venue? Nobody knows, but if push comes to shove, Guy Lard will be there hobbling to the rescue.
Also, Guy avidly believes that any movie that takes place during Christmas is in fact a Christmas movie.

Kirk has always despised Christmas but for some reason he was a mall Santa for many years until he got banned from just about every mall in America for cursing at children, hitting on their mothers, fighting their fathers, and always showing up to work drunk. Now, with nothing else left, Kirk has decided to sign up for Ground Zero. He knows how to fight and he figures it's easy money for more booze, plus it gives him a chance to spread more misery to others.

Growing up in Baton Rouge with a mother and father who loved him dearly, Christmas was inevitably Bretโs favourite time of year. Despite not being the wealthiest family around, Bretโs parents made sure to give him and his little sister Trixie the best Christmas they possibly could every year. It was wonderfulโฆ until it wasnโt.
When Bret was 13 and his sister was 8, their parents got into a car accident en-route to picking the children up from school, that tragically ended both their lives. Bret and Trixie waited for their parents to roll up, with all the other kids hopping in their familyโs cars and zooming off, but they never arrived. After the death of their parents, Bret and Trixie were put in the care of their grandmother, a mean old lady who blamed the death of her daughter on Bret and Trixie. Her logic being that if the kids had never been born, her daughter wouldnโt have died picking them up from school. So, letโs just say, all those nice family Christmasโs were a think of the past.
Given that their grandmother resented the children, she made very little effort to actually look after them. In her eyes, giving the children a roof over their head was far more than they deserved. If they wanted to eat and drink, or have clothes that somewhat fit, then they would have to sort that out themselves. And so, at 13 years old, Bret took it upon himself to look after himself and his little sister. He would be the one to make sure she was fed, had clothes that fit, helped her with homeworkโฆ and he would be the one to try to give Trixie the best Christmasโs that he possibly could.
As Bret and Trixie grew up (one far quicker than the other), any time that Bret spent not in school, he spent either looking after his sister, or working to make the money he needed to feed them, clothe them, and save a little up to buy Trixie presents for birthdays and Christmas. He could never make her Christmas's as great as the ones that they had with their parents, and this fact broke Bretโs heart every year.

Once a jovial craftsman working for the holiday season, Tinsel Terror was a kind-hearted gentle giant who helped build toys in the mystical Northern Workshop of the North Pole. However, one fateful Christmas, a freak accident with the toy assembly line left him scarred, both physically and mentally. His beloved workshop burned down in the aftermath, and he was cast out, banished to the frozen wasteland by those who feared him.
Consumed by rage and bitterness, Tinsel Terror forged his own โworkshopโ of chaos. Using the remnants of the workshopโs machinery and decorations, he built his new identity. Swathed in tinsel and ornaments.
Despite what happened to him, he does not hate Christmas. In fact, quite the opposite, he looks to punish those who do not have Christmas Cheer and do not appreciate the true meaning of Christmas.
Tinsel Terror thrives on inflicting pain and delivering โholiday justiceโ in his warped vision. He dresses in shredded, festive attireโa patchwork of red, green, and gold with jagged edges that look more like armor than clothing, designed to hide the scars he received during the workshop fire. He inflicts punishment in the ring using a hardcore style utilizing holiday decorations as his weapons of choice.

Jim Gulbells is a music teacher at a California high school, but he is fed up of his students spending their time talking about wrestling and not paying attention to his classes. Things came to a head when he was not able to convince the students to participate in the Christmas play at the school, as none of them were passionate about music. All they wanted to do was talk about wrestling and the FWA and do the moves on each other.
So Jim came to an agreement with them. They promised to perform in the play so long as he agreed to share their interest as well. So they signed him up for Ground Zero. Jim hates wrestling because it is poisoning the minds of the youths he teaches and leaves no room for the joys of music in their souls. He does not know how to wrestle and has no interest in learning.
