He’s been wrestling for many years, specifically in small indie promotions down in Mexico, where he’s a beloved act wherever he appears. He calls himself Lone Shark because he’s always been a bit of a loner all his life, and he thinks it’s a clever pun. Lone Shark competed in FWA’s Ground Zero but came up short and has since been wrestling on small independent wrestling shows while also being a protege for FWA’s Undisputed Alliance. He’s learned under their tutelage for about a year now and he’s decided to branch out on his own once again. Nakayama is a paradoxical figure in the world of wrestling. Outside the ring, he is known as Hiroshi Nakayama, a soft-spoken, respectful young man who values discipline, tradition, and respect. However, when he steps into the ring, he undergoes a complete transformation. Adorning his face with distinctive, tribal-style paint that symbolizes the unleashing of his inner wildness, he becomes "Nakayama," a wrestler whose energy and unpredictability can only be described as primal.
Nakayama's in-ring persona is deeply rooted in the idea of releasing one's inner beast. Once the face paint is on, he channels an almost otherworldly energy that captivates the audience. His movements are erratic, his strikes vicious, and his attitude in the ring is one of controlled chaos. He is known to race to the ring, down the ramp, to pace around the ring like a caged animal before the bell rings, psyching himself up and unnerving his opponents. Despite his wild nature, Nakayama is incredibly strategic; he lulls opponents into a false sense of security with his frenetic style before catching them off-guard with sudden, precise, high-flying manoeuvres.

His face paint is the most striking part of his look—black and white tribal patterns with streaks of red, designed to look like the claw marks of a wild animal. His eyes are outlined in black, giving him a fierce, and menacing glare.
Wrestling Style: When the bell rings, Nakayama immediately transforms from the reserved Hiroshi Nakayama into a whirlwind of chaotic energy. His approach to wrestling is grounded in his brawler roots, which means he starts with an aggressive and almost raw intensity. He charges at his opponent with a frenetic pace, his movements almost predatory, as if he's stalking his prey. His strikes are powerful and deliberate, and each punch and kick is forcefully delivered. This raw power is tempered by an unexpected layer of agility. Nakayama can seamlessly switch from a bruising brawler to a high-flying daredevil. His high-flying moves are not just occasional flourishes; they are strategically employed to catch his opponents off guard. When he climbs the turnbuckle, he does so with a grace that contrasts sharply with his otherwise rugged demeanour. His wild, unpredictable nature keeps both his opponents and the audience guessing. He might start a match with a systematic approach, setting up his opponent for what appears to be a classic wrestling exchange, only to suddenly switch gears into a frenzied assault.

A soft deadline I'm thinking of for sign ups is September 15th. Gives you two weeks to think through a character and make a sign up if you desire. Plus it is Labour Day weekend and some people may be working on stuff for the next show (such as promos, which I also have open in another tab) or segments/matches in the upcoming week.
And remember, if you really don't think you can promo for it, I still encourage you to make a character if you want a match with a scripted/predetermined finish. Also, you may DM me here or on Discord if you want to write for the show or vote.

Even if you DM me withthe idea of "This chacter is [disposition] with [this division] and their gimmick is basically this." Agent Jenkins and Chris Peacock leave the room, but even after they do, the portal remains open. It flickers slightly, the color of it occasionally changing. The force of the portal warps the surrounding furniture inside Agent Jenkins office. As the portal remains open though, a small, blue blob of particles falls out of the portal and onto the carpet, landing with a gentle "sploosh".
The portal finally fizzles out and closes, leaving disheveled furniture and paperwork in its wake.
The blob moves. It shows signs of life, and then signs of dexterity, as it blobs around the office. It sees that the door of the office has been left ajar and slithers through the crack. Hearing the trailing footsteps down the hall, the blob zooms with uncanny speed, zig zagging its malleable body almost like a snake. The blob chases after the trailing footsteps of Agent Jenkins and Chris Peacock. As the two exit the building to the garage where Agent Jenkins has parked, the blob slithers unnoticed around their feet.
Agent Jenkins gets to the car and opens the door. As he casts his gaze on the MIB-Peacock, the blob zips into the car, under the drivers seat, and runs into Agent Jenkins backpack in the backseat. After blobbing around the backpack for a moment, the blob snuggles itself into one of the bags compartments.

3 October 2021 - Locker Room of The Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan
Amidst the sounds and bustle of FWA Lights Out 2021 in the Tokyo Dome, a bunch of bags in the backstage locker room area sit quietly and unattended. One of the bags starts shaking, and after a moment, blobbie slithers out. Finally free from the various bag-hopping travels that brought it from Virginia to Japan, the blobs curiosity had finally overcome its innate fear of this new universe. Blobbie had been watching the lifeforms on this planet, this universe for several days at this point, equal parts miffed and mystified. As blobbie blobbed around in the designated bag area, he once again locates a door ajar and zooms out. The door leads to another room, where a large amount of FWA merch is being stored to sell during and after Lights Out. Blobbie scooches towards one of the first objects laid out against the pile, which happens to be an unwrapped body pillow of Lord Vincent Takaab Blackbird, scion of Clan Blackbird, the undisputed leader of the BIRD Empire, and spiritual FWA Hall of Famer. Blobbie gazes his blob eyes on the vestige of Lord Blackbird in pillow form, towering over him.
It is the most badass thing blobbie has ever gazed upon.
Blobbie sizes up the image and sets his blob mind. Once ready, blobbie slowly yet surely morphs his own blob, stretching, shaping, contorting himself until he is now an avatar of the wrath of the BIRD Empire himself.
Blobbie tries to take a step, but wobbles a little. Balancing on two hind limbs instead of being able to glide on the floor was somewhat foreign to blobbie. How do these lifeforms do it? Blobbie steadies himself and mimics what he has observed, putting one bottom limb first before the other. Blobbie trips and stumbles through another door. In this room, there are a bunch of shiny white ceramic objects, and a mirror on the wall. Blobbie gazes upon himself in the mirror now, taking a long look and admiring the beauty of the Anarchist for a New Era that he has become.
A sudden sound of a door opening outside is heard. A few steps, then the next door opens.
"Lord Blackbird, are you in here??"
An FWA production assistant bursts into the merch room as Blobbie hobbles out of the washroom.
"THERE YOU ARE!!! BLACKBIRD, we've been looking all over for you!!"
"........blabblerb?"
"Lord Vincent, Kayden Knox and Mr. DILF have been looking all over the building for you! We have to go shoot some promotional material right now, we are already very behind schedule!!"
".......Blorb Blimblem??"
The exasperated PA gets behind Blorb Blimblem and starts pushing him by his very human shoulders out of the merch room and out into the bowels of the Tokyo Dome.
"Please Lord Vincent, just follow me and lets get this over with... ugh, why are your shoulders a little sticky.... you know what, nevermind, I don't want to know..."

And YDS had a promo where they were in the World of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. They are wonderful creatures who are very marketable. But maybe next time, offer him more pancakes. |

Gimmick/Backstory:
Jin Katou believes himself to be an egomaniacal A-list celebrity who thinks he is above wrestling. He is vain and self-absorbed and treats wrestling as just another entertainment vehicle for his fame.
At his side is his manager and girlfriend, Fuyuko Higa, a stunning model and actress who plays into his narcissistic character. She acts as his valet, often helping him cheat to win, distracting referees, and using her charm to manipulate situations in Katou's favour. When she's not scheming, she can be seen taking selfies ringside, updating social media about their glamorous lifestyle.
But Jin Katou didn't have a good introduction to the world of wrestling. He made his debut as "Bruce Lou," a parody of Bruce Lee. He wore a yellow tracksuit similar to Bruce Lee's iconic outfit from Game of Death, carried nunchucks, and mimicked Lee's famous mannerisms right down to his battle cries and exaggerated poses...only to comically fall when he attempted to make a martial art move or hit himself in the face with nunchucks. If you think that sounds like a terrible gimmick, you'd be right. The idea of parodying a beloved figure like Bruce Lee did not sit well with wrestling audiences, who viewed it as disrespectful to an icon. It was clear that Katou was headed toward obscurity. His career was stuck in the lower card, and he was seen as a sideshow act with no future in serious professional wrestling.
Then, one day, Jin saw his saving grace: Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood", in which Bruce Lee has a short but memorable scene where he's shown as an egotistic and arrogant fighter. Inspired, Jin shred the bruce lou gimmick and began performing under his own name but with a new persona based on what he's seen in that movie. No longer a bumbling fool. Instead, he was now "The Ultra Star" A star so big that even wrestling is just another platform for his fame. He is a celebrity who transcends wrestling, treating every match as though it's a movie premiere, where he is the headlining act. His arrogance knows no bounds, as he regularly insults his opponents, claiming they are beneath him both in skill and status.

Attire:
Entrance: Coming to the ring, he appears in a dazzling, Golden Sequined Robe. Embroidered across the back in oversized glittering diamonds are the words "ULTRA STAR". Katou also comes to the ring with Aviator Sunglasses with a reflective gold frame and a sleek black frame. His neck is also adorned with a diamond-encrusted chain.
In the Ring: he wears black wrestling trucks offset by shiny gold accents in the form of stars. The knee pads also feature large embroidered gold stars surrounded by swirling patterns of silver. His boots keep the theme, as they are black with gold streaks.
Wrestling Style: Jin Katou has crafted his wrestling foundation on the Lucharesu style, which fuses the acrobatic, fast-paced elements of Mexican lucha libre with the hard-hitting, disciplined striking and grappling of Japanese puroresu. This makes him a dynamic competitor who can work various match styles, from fast-paced aerial battles to slower, more technical encounters, but of course, he is, in fact, a cheating bastard. Higa will often try to interfere on his behalf, but that's not the only trick up his sleeve. He has often been known to deploy "Stunt Double." These stunt doubles are typically young lions dressed exactly like him. During pivotal moments in a match, particularly when Katou is losing momentum, a stunt double will emerge from under the ring, often while Fuyuko distracts the referee. The stunt double mimics Katou's movements and engages with the opponent, creating confusion as the real Katou takes the time to recover outside the ring. Sometimes, the double takes a beating in Katou's place, only for the opponent to realize too late they've been attacking a decoy. Katou won many matches after his opponent attempted to pin a stunt double, only for Katou to attack from behind.
Moveset: 10 moves min. -Running High Knee -Double Knee Backbreaker -Arm Drag -Dropkick -Hurricarana variants. -Various springboard attacks -Tornado DDT -Red Carpet Splash (Frog Splash) - Spotlight Suplex (High-angle bridging German Suplex) - Paparazzi Press (A diving over the top rope tope, sometimes Higa will hand him a phone, and Katou will mock take selfies mid-flight

Entrance motion: Jin Katou will come out on stage as a luxurious red carpet is rolled out. Along both sides of the carpet, a team of "paparazzi" actors will appear, dressed in sleek black suits and flashing cameras as if they are documenting the arrival of a global celebrity."
As Katou and Higa walk down, the paparazzi flash their cameras relentlessly, with Katou occasionally stopping to "pose" for them, adjusting his sunglasses, or pointing to his name on the robe. Fuyuko walks beside him, snapping selfies and smiling for the cameras as if oblivious to the thunderous boos around them.

  Name: MOIST Height: 5 ft 10 Weight: 232lbs Hometown: Yakushima, Japan Age: 35 Alignment: Heel Gimmick/Backstory: If you've broached the topic in social conversation, you'll know that there's a certain series of words that just tend to make everyone uncomfortable. Whether it's due to the associated imagery or the linguistic dialect saying the word embarks, everyone has one word that just never fails to make them ever so slightly uneasy and want to end the conversation as soon as possible. Anyway, on an unrelated note, Shigure Nikko is fairly nondescript wrestler, based primarily in Japan. Neither particularly good nor particularly bad, Nikko has been well known within the Genki Puro circles for playing a chill, relaxed midcard babyface with a unique gimmick in that his fellow wrestlers constantly forgot about him. On one hand, it meant hot tags were always an enjoyable ride, as many a heel would react like Shigure Nikko would spontaneously appear out of thin air to kick their ass once the hot tag had been made. On the other hand... Well. Put it this way - There was a reoccurring gag in Genki Puro where he and a crew of similar midcard babyfaces would be attacked and beaten up by the top heels - more on those later - and the #1 babyface would run in and chase the heels away from their victims to cheers. Except for Shigure Nikko, who the #1 babyface would constantly overlook during this run in. Thus resulting in many shows ending with the babyfaces standing in a unified front, celebrating, high fiving, and generally giving each other a motivational pep talk, while right behind them Shigure Nikko would still be getting his shit kicked in. Until one day he had enough, and after being left behind yet again, he vowed that next time they met, they would regret it. He swore he would retreat into the dark, to find the inner shadow within him, and everyone - face, heel, and ESPECIALLY tweeners - would rue the day. This promo was ignored and forgotten as it accidentally took place during commercial. True to his word despite that, he vanished for a few months. Few noticed. But he returned, with a new, villainous attitude, almost evil in his schemes. Almost, but not quite. Now under the character of MOIST (yes the all-caps is necessary), he has vowed to make his fellow wrestlers regret forgetting him, by making them as uncomfortable as possible when they face MOIST in the ring. Not enough to make it be a big deal, of course, but enough to make them just not really want to be there. Like, not majorly, but not minorly, either. Such as: - Standing directly in front of the interviewer whilst demanding they still hold the microphone - Holding the door open while someone is several seconds away, forcing them to awkwardly walk at a quicker pace to get there - Breaking the sacred urinal gap rule - Waiting in the gorilla position before his match to make eye contact with his opponent while he slathers himself with baby oil - Doing that thing where someone turns a chair backwards to sit in it in a way that's supposed to look cool and aloof and edgy, but it really doesn't because, like, you're essentially doing the splits and your crotch is awkwardly highlighted but you can't back out now, you've committed. - Similar shit Now, normally that would be it, and MOIST would be restricted to spreading his discomforting aura only on the most tragic of shows. However, following his victory over SUPER MASSIVE DESTROYER at World's Unite in 2023, as per a contractual agreement, MOIST was given the role of a reoccuring villain in the animated series of the same name during the latest season. The character was, surprisingly, a hit, and despite being killed off at the end of the season in a rather gratuitous rock-crushing-machine incident, MOIST was invited to continue his role in the next season with a completely unexplained recovery. Now a regular on the series, MOIST is a household name, the least of which is due to his wrestling. Now more famous than before, MOIST spreads his discomforting aura to more and more people, to the point where some suspect a cult of some kind may be in the making... But that's a story for another time. Pic Base: EVIL Attire: NJPW's EVIL but with ugly colors. Like, lime green, lime enough that it's painful to look at under a bright light. Wrestling Style: Match-extention brawler. And with the deadline approaching, right now I got 14-16 peeps, a good amount. Blaine has messaged me asking for an extra couple of days to post his sign up, so I have him marked down. I'll be planning the card and hope to have it and the promo thread to be up within 1-2 weeks, I got a Nova Mirror match and the GO to worry about.
And I also got one or two people who have messaged interested in writing matches or voting. I'll need some help, so if you are interested, send it to me on here or Discord.
And of course, you can still sign up. Though ideally, if you need time to get something, then try to at least express your interest in getting a character up within the next day or so here or via DM and I'll mark you down and let you post the sign up.
